วัดนิเวศธรรมประวัติ ตั้งอยู่บนเกาะกลางแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา ตรงข้ามกับพระราชวังบางปะอิน  สร้างขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2419 โดยรัชกาลที่ 5 

วัดนี้มีสถาปัตยกรรมเลียนแบบโบสถ์ฝรั่ง ใช้ศิลปะโกธิค  พระอุโบสถเป็นอาคารมีโดม หอนาฬิกาและระฆังชุด เหนือขึ้นไปเป็นพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ 

ภายในพระอุโบสถ เป็นการผสมผสานระหว่างศิลปะไทยและตะวันตก บริเวณฐานที่ตั้งพระประธานมีลักษณะเหมือนที่ตั้งไม้กางเขนในโบสถ์  ช่องหน้าต่างเจาะเป็นหน้าต่างโค้งประดับด้วยกระจกสี ฝาผนังด้านหน้าพระประธานเป็นพระบรมสาทิสลักษณ์ของรัชกาลที่5 ประดับด้วยกระจกสี มีความสวยงามยิ่ง

ประวัติเดิมมีว่า เคยเป็นที่ประทับของพระเจ้าแผ่นดินหลายพระองค์ในสมัย อยุธยา โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในสมัยสมเด็จพระเจ้าปราสาททองเนื่องจากทรงมีนิวาสสถานดั้ง เดิมอยู่ที่เกาะบางปะอิน เมื่อเสด็จขึ้นครองราชย์ โปรดให้สร้างพระราชวังเป็นที่ประพาส และสร้างวัดชุมพลนิกายาราม ตั้งแต่นั้นมาพระบรมวงศานุวงศ์ในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาก็ได้เสด็จประพาสที่เกาะ บางปะอินทุกพระองค์

Wat Niwet Thammaprawat  is located on an island of the Chao Phraya River, opposite Bang Pa-In Palace. It was built in 1876 by King Rama V.

This temple has an architectural imitation of the cathedral and uses Gothic art. The Buddhist chapel is a dome building with a clock tower and a bell set, above which stands the Buddha's relics.

Inside the chapel shows the aesthetic combination of the Thai and Western art. The base area of ​​the main Buddha Statute is similar to that of the Christian Cross in the church. Curved windows of the chapel are decorated with stained glass. The wall fronting the main Buddha Statute depicts the image of King Rama V, also decorated with stained glass.

History of the site dates back to its use as a  residence of many kings in the Ayutthaya period, especially during the reign of King Prasat Thong, due to his original domicile on Bang Pa-in Island. When he ascended the throne,  he ordered the construction of the palace and the nearby Chumphon Nikayaram Temple.  Since then, the royal family in the Ayutthaya period visited this Bang Pa-in Island.

รถตู้ : มีรถตู้ ฟิวเจอร์ รังสิต - บางปะอิน หรือที่ หมอชิต 2  รถจอดที่สถานี บขส  ที่ บางปะอิน เอก เซนเตอร์ ซึ่งอยู่ห่างจากวัดประมาณ 2 กิโลเมตร


By Bus Van: from Future - Rangsit or Morchit 2 (Northern Bus Terminal) to Bang Pa In at Bang Pa In Ek Center, 2 kilometres from temple. Take a tricycle taxi.





รถเมล์ : มีรถเมล์ จาก รังสิต มาถึง บางปะอิน จอดที่ บางปะอิน เอก เซนเตอร์ ซึ่งอยู่ห่างจากวัดประมาณ 2 กิโลเมตร


By Bus: from Rangsit to Bang Pa In at Bang Pa In Ek Center, about 2 kilometres from temple. Take a tricycle taxi.










รถไฟ :  สถานีรถไฟ บางปะอิน  มีรถสองแถวต่อเข้ามา หรือนั่งรถสามล้อ หรือ มอเตอร์ไซค์รับจ้าง ระยะทาง 1.5 กิโลเมตร
By Train: Get off at Bang Pa In Train Station and take a minitruck bus or a tricycle taxi to the temple, about 1.5 kilometres.









นอก จากนี้ ยังสามารถนั่งรถสองแถวจาก บางปะอิน เอก เซนเตอร์ ไป เมืองเก่าอยุธยาได้อีกด้วย
Besides, there are minitruck buses from Bang Pa In Ek Center to the old town of Ayutthaya as well.
