Pariwas Temple

Pariwas Temple was originally a small temple in the middle of the fields. It probably was built around the end of Ayutthaya period to the beginning of Rattanakosin era by an unknown creator.  Later in the reign of King Rama 2 or 3, the temple was restored beautifully and then named "Pariwas Ratcha Songkhram Temple" which means "the temple of war lords." The name "war lords" was subsequently cut off to remain "Pariwas Temple."

The chapel, the wihara and the cloister were rebuilt in 2008 with strange architectures. Outside the chapel stand various ancient warrior statues and angels of various nations to signify the defense of the sanctuary and the spreading of Buddhism worldwide. David Beckham sculpture of 24 inches in clay together with numerous gods is at the base of the Buddha Statue, meaning that people regardless of race or religion can respect and support Buddhism. Inside the chapel shows the wall murals adorned with  five-colored porcelains, colored stones and gems. They look like mosaic paintings of churches of other religions that are rare to find and are a mixed contemporary art.

"Sukhothai Buddha" Statue with age over 700 years looks beautiful like that in Traimit Temple. The top of the chapel is a lotus made of gold weighing over one kilogram. It has been said that the wihara and the chapel cost more than 250 million baht and their construction took 20 years to complete. They still are currently being under the construction. The door panes of the chapel are also made of silver  with 80 kilograms in weight.

Square pagodas, the merit-making ground and a small chapel are waiting for Buddhists to find peace in mind. The small chapel also houses a replica footprint of Buddha constructed in 1922. Tourists can pay homage to Buddha statues, make merits, read religious books, and find their future from the fortune sticks.

Fish feeding is available at the pier on Chao Phraya River.
